SO Standon come to town and we’re
devoid of a lot of talent, like Russ, Gino, Flipper and Gobshite.
To make matters worse, Gary who had returned from about SIX weeks off, pulled his calf again in the bludy
kickabout. After a bit of grovelling,
they lent us Stu, the wee nippy fucker, for the first half, and Belch had to go
Centrehalf with Steve.. This
meant Sid still reffed, and we press ganged Gary into
Lino Duty.
So off we went at 1049, and an amazing first eight minutes,
included two point blank saves from Andy in the first two minutes, VJ kicked
two away, Stu actually had a shot at the other end, and then finally, Stu was
fouled on the ˝ way line, but not given, as they put Chris away, to smack home
a rather deserved opener. 0-1
This woke us up a bit, and a slick move from Penn to Chike,
to Marc, who shot just wide from about 15 yards. It was not enough though as
the ever alert VJ on the near post Headed smartly home. Unfortunately, it was
into our net !!! 0-2

Their right winger had been having a right old time, pissing
past poor old Uday, and there he is again, and a low
cross, is tapped home to make it 0-3 on 20 minutes. I swapped VJ from rightback for Uday at this time.

Two minutes on and Penn is fouled about 20 yards out. Marc
steps up and his low shot is saved at the foot of the post. Waahhee,
we’ve got a corner !! Over it comes, and Chike’s attempted overhead kick sails harmlessly over the
top.
Yet another corner flies in, but Andy punches well clear
under pressure. Then Penn finds Marc who feeds the ever eager Stu who shot just
over the bar. Apparently, he ain’t scored this
season, so he would have been on Minus 1 !!
Four minutes to half-time, and
Belch covers well for a floundering Uday, at the
expense of a corner. Over it came, Andy flapped at it,
and Chris headed powerfully home from a yard out. 0-4 H/T 0-4
Stu returned to them, and with no-one volunteering to take
his place, Can’t blame them really, I persuaded Sid to come on as Centre-half
with Steve, return Belch to Left back, and VJ rightback,
and move Uday further up field, which only left me to
take up the whistle.
Details a bit sketchy from now on, as I was reffing, but a much better 2nd half,as our midfield began to get
into it, and even Uday was fitting in very well with
Penn, FG and Chike.It took them 26 minutes to score
the fifth, and that was very lucky as Big-gob Jimmy, miskicked
his first open goal, which sent Andy the wrong way, so he hammered home the loose
ball. 0-5
35 minutes had passed when Penn ran down a loose ball, and
beat the keeper and fullback to it, put the ball back inside, and Chike smacked
it home from 18 yards. 1-5
I have just noticed, that I played 50 minutes i/o 40 !!! What a Tit !! There was no
more scoring during that period, so we finished at 12:15.Ooops !!

Penn ran all day, being a fit bastud,
but I think it would have been a lot worse without him, and I must say that
Sid, who was concerned ab out playing, barely put a
foot wrong all half. Well Done, Lads.
Roll on Old Owens and a nice early pint for me !!
